Volunteer Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Driver
Duties: Transport Oneida County seniors to and from non-emergency medical appointments.
Qualifications:
Must be 55 years or older
Have a valid NYS driver’s license, and a clean driving record
Access to a reliable vehicle with current vehicle registration and insurance
No criminal Record
Genuine concern for others
Reliable and punctual
Professional demeanor and ability to maintain confidentiality
Access to telephone, able ot use and follow a schedule
Ability to keep accurate mileage records in accordance with given procedures
Benefits: IRS tax-free reimbursement of mileage at the current rate of $.505/mile, tolls and parking with printed receipts, excess liability insurance. The reimbursement you earn does NOT affect Social Security Disatbility, food stamps, or SSI status.
CarFit Volunteer Technician
Duties: Assist the CarFit Event Coordinator in conducting CarFit events. CarFit is a program that gives information while also assisting older drivers on improving the “fit” of their vehicles for safety and comfort.
Qualifications:
Must be 55 years or older
Willing to submit to a background check
Must be able to bend over, stoop down, assist someone else in walking
Genuine observational and communication skills
Demonstrate good time management skills
Good demeanor in addressing the potentially stress provoking topic of driving
