Member of the Month
Our member of the month for September is Pat Brothers! She is a lifelong resident of the City of Utica, and a graduate of UFA.
Pat has been married to her husband Larry for 48 years. Larry is a Vietnam Veteran who served four years in the US Air Force, and spent 16 years in the Army Reserve. They traveled during the early part of their marriage because of his military service.
They have two daughters and 4 grandchildren, who all live locally; and, a dog named “Scruffy”, who is a Schnoodle. Pat loves dogs.
Pat loves to travel and this past May, Pat and her husband went to Hawaii. Maui was her favorite island. They have traveled on Caribbean Cruises, and are planning another one for their 50th Anniversary!
Pat retired from New York State Corrections after 13 years. She held various secretarial positions at various facilities. She’s taken her first volunteer position here at the Parkway, working the front desk on Friday mornings. She loves the people.
She is also active in other programs. She first came to the Center for Aerobics and Zumba, and now belongs to both Red Hat Groups (plus another as she is an Avid Red Hatter!) She also plans on participating in the new Aging Mastery Program that begins this Fall.
As a hobby, Pat makes beaded jewelry, maybe she’ll teach a class in the future?! Thanks for all you do Pat!
