Fitness Programs

The Parkway Center is able to take some insurance programs for participation in our health & wellness classes,
that may cover the entire cost of your class.
These insurances include: Silver Sneakers Fitness, Silver & Fit Fitness, Optum, and Active & Fit Fitness.
Please note that although we accept these programs, it is up to YOU to determine if your insurance company
carries a particular program, and verify your coverage.

Monday

AEROBICS
Instructor: Roseanne Grasso
Time: 9:00 am in the Gym
Cost: $25*   ( Drop in and try a class for $5 )
Description: this is a full body workout ( cardio, strength training, flexibility, and balance / coordination ) in an hour. The class consists of continually alternating episodes of aerobics with 2 minute segments of strength training.
The last 15 minutes focus on stomach toning, flexibility, and balance / coordination. 

FLEX & FLO YOGA
Instructor: Kathy Marvin
Time: 10:00 am in the Chalet
Cost: $25*   ( Drop in and try a class for $5 )
Description: breathing control and meditation are used to adopt specific body postures, to promote health and fitness.

STAYYOUNG STRONGBONES ( A program of RSVP )

Description: StayYoung StrongBones is a strength training and proper nutrition class for all ages.
Strength training has been shown to reduce the signs and symptoms of many chronic conditions such as:
Arthritis, Diabetes, Osteoporosis, Heart Disease, Obesity, and Back Pain.
You have a choice of chair exercises only, or staying for additional floor exercises on mats.
All exercises use lightweights and slow, repetitive motions to build strength. 

Bike Club
Time: 11:00 am to 12:30pm in the Gym
Cost: Free
Description: Ride three wheeled bikes for aerobic workout.

ZUMBA GOLD

Description: this program fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves
to create a one-of-a-kind fitness program that will blow you away.

PICKLEBALL
Instructor: Pickleball is led by members
Time: 1:00 pm in the Gym
Cost: $20**   ( Drop in and try a class for $3 )
Description: Pickleball is a racket sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis.
Two, three, or four players use solid paddles to hit a ball, similar to a whiffle ball, over a net.

Description: Tai Chi is a series of slow deliberate movements; this style is specifically designed for people with arthritis and other muscle or joint diseases.
Qigong is a traditional Chinese energy medicine practice, combining breathing, movement, and meditation.
