Centro Utica also offers semester passes for college students and 10-ride pass, weekly or 30-day unlimited ride passes for adults.

Kids under age 6 ride for free.

Centro is now offering Day Passes for the bus! For more information on this new initiative you can watch this great video.

Paying for the bus

To ride the bus, you can pay with cash, (drivers do not make change), or use a bus pass card, which you can buy pre-loaded with the number of rides, number of days, or kind of pass you want. Pass cards can be purchased online at the Centro website, at Central New York Regional Transportation Authority, at the Centro Transit Hub, and many other locations, you can see pass card purchase locations here.  For more information and questions, call Centro Store at 315-442-3333 or e-mail them at Orders@centro.org.

Boarding the bus

Riders should wait for other passengers to exit before boarding.

Riding with Kids

Children under six years old can ride for free and must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Youth aged 6-9 years have discounted fare; see information at the top of this page.

Strollers, Walkers & Carts

All of the above are allowed on the bus, as long as they do not block the aisle, and are stowed so they will not fly forward during a sudden stop. A good rule of thumb is to bring only what you can carry on and off the bus in one trip.

Paratransit is recognized in North America as special transportation services for people with disabilities or aging, often provided as a supplement to fixed-route bus and rail systems by public transit agencies.

The most flexible paratransit systems offer on-demand call-up door-to-door service from any origin to any destination in a service area. In addition to public transit agencies, Paratransit services are operated by community groups or not-for-profit organizations.
